We use both Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT internally. While Copilot has proven to be very useful for high-volume users of Microsoft Teams, our preferred day-to-day AI agent continues to be ChatGPT. Recently, we discovered that there are multiple versions of the software available, each with different features and security sets. Consequently, we decided to upgrade to the new ChatGPT Team Plan, and we’d love to share why this decision has been transformative for us.
Here’s a quick comparison of the ChatGPT Pro, Team, and Enterprise plans to help you understand the differences and benefits of each.
ChatGPT Pro Plan
Cost: Approximately $38.50 NZD per user per month ($20 USD) on a monthly contract

ChatGPT Team Plan

• Centralised billing and user management
• Suitable for small to medium-sized teams needing collaborative features (up to 149 users)
• An annual contract is also available
ChatGPT Enterprise Plan
Cost: Custom pricing based on specific needs and usage
Functions:
• All Team plan features
• Dedicated support and account management
• Advanced security and compliance features
• Customisable solutions and API access
• Designed for large organisations with extensive and specific requirements
These plans provide a range of options from individual use to large organisational needs, ensuring flexibility and scalability based on different user demands.
We initially considered the Enterprise Plan for its robust features and security benefits. However, it wasn’t available for our current subscription size so a handful of us are utilising the Team plan now. As regular users of ChatGPT we needed a solution that offered comprehensive functionality without compromising on privacy and security.
The newly released Team Plan met our requirements perfectly:
• Data Privacy: It disables data sharing or learning with the outside world, allowing us to utilise our data without concern.
• Organisational Control: We can use our company email addresses and manage accounts at an administrator level, ensuring full control over our data, users, and access.
• Security Features: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and enhanced data controls give us confidence in our security setup.
By incorporating ChatGPT under our organisational domain and management, we ensure that all AI usage is officially sanctioned and controlled, mitigating the risks associated with shadow AI.
We believe the ChatGPT Team Plan is a good choice for small to medium organisations looking for advanced data control, security, and administrative management without the higher costs of the Enterprise Plan. The recent updates in ChatGPT and the new voice-assistant mode offer significant improvements in functionality and usability, which we will explore in our next blog.
