CCT are a not-for-profit charitable trust that supports youth and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorders in Canterbury, Otago and Southland. Dunedin based Community Care Trust has 250+ staff and currently provides support services for 250 people in the community.
CCT has grown significantly over the last 30 years, and the organisation realised that with the increasing requirements for data and the need to keep up with technology to support staff and clients, they needed to review their existing IT resourcing and put a plan in place to deliver a high level of ongoing support – within a defined budget.
Changing requirements from funding organisations make it essential to be able to easily access relevant data to help support their essential funding applications.
Government departments in the human services sector are moving to results based accounting systems, which means CCT needs to have the systems in place to deliver the relevant data.
Budgets are also getting tighter, so having a predictable monthly cost for IT makes a huge difference.
After going through a review of their requirements and of suitable providers in the local market, CCT chose to work with The I.T. Team, based on the company’s service offering, the fixed monthly cost model for managed IT services, and the professionalism and company culture demonstrated by the staff.
“We needed an IT company that was up to speed with the pace of technological change, and who would continue to keep us up to date as technology evolves,” says business development manager Wayne Cockburn.
Wayne sees the relationship between CCT and The I.T. Team as very professional, but also personal and he values the high level of personalised service the company provides.
“It’s great to be able to meet with The I.T. Team staff and management regularly and to have people we know personally to contact when we have issues to resolve, or to get advice on the best approach.”
